Witness

in the lab

Your own algorithm, built around intentionality: it pulls from the whole world, filters everything through the intentions you set, and surfaces only what matters, with no feed deciding what you're allowed to see.

What’s broken. The feed decides what you see, and it isn’t on your side. It was built to hold your attention, not to serve it. So the things you’d actually want to know… a quiet filing, a post from someone you follow, a story it buried… never surface, because surfacing them doesn’t keep you scrolling.

What I built. Witness takes the feed back. It isn’t an algorithm someone else points at you; it’s your own, built around your intentions. It’s been through a few versions; the latest is a terminal app (a TUI) with three moving parts:

Nothing inserted, nothing ranked against you. Bear witness to what they’d rather you scrolled past.
